Incorporate This On Your Walls

I am always looking for ways to dress my walls!
I go and look for inspiration everywhere but little did I know it was right in front of me.

(sorry for the lighting..it's in the hallway)
I decided to use my daughter's art!
She draws every day..it's her passion!  What better way to encourage than to display her work.

I found the cork "bark" background at a local store.

Here is some other inspiration for you..

A Recipe For You Busy Moms

I don't know about you but I am busy!  I love to cook gourmet but don't have the time anymore and it can be hard to find some really good quick recipes that taste wonderful from the jump-start and don't have to be altered.

Last night the kids and I made this and it was delicious!  Super easy to make and minimal ingredients..

This is one you should definitely add in your recipe cardholder.

Enjoy!

Coastal Collections

Good Morning!

I have been thinking a lot about the ocean recently ..
Being from New Jersey I miss the smell of the ocean air and the sound of the waves coming onto the beach.

One day I will own a small Oceanside cottage but until then here are some ideas to create that atmosphere.

A Room With A View

Good Afternoon!

I love the feeling of courtyards.
It makes you feel like your on a vacation and I am all about that :)
Your home should be a sanctuary where you can get away from all the busyness.  Even if you have little kids there should be a place where it's your own getaway and creating a courtyard experience can do just that.

Red Eggs Wreath

Happy Good Friday!

I love this time of year!  It's a time to celebrate newness and life.

I saw this craft via Martha Stewart and I fell in love.

The rich red is stunning!

Here is the how to...

Dyeing brown chicken eggs (instead of white ones) creates a deep, intense shade of red.

Tools and Materials

1 dozen brown eggs
2 dozen quail eggs
Craft knife
1 paper clip, straightened
Rubber ear syringe (available at drugstores)
Heatproof bowl
White vinegar
Red food coloring
Olive oil
Grape-wood wreath
Hot-glue gun
  1. Empty the raw eggs: Pierce the top and bottom of each with the craft knife, turning the knife in one hole to widen it slightly. Poke the paper clip through one hole; stir to break up the yolk. Hold the egg over a bowl, with the larger hole facing down, and blow the contents out with the syringe.
  2. In the heatproof bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of vinegar with 20 drops of food coloring for every cup of hot tap water. Submerge the egg for at least 10 minutes. (To dye many eggs at once, put them in the bowl and weigh them down by nesting an empty bowl inside of the heatproof one.)
  3. Remove the eggs from the dye; let dry on a drying rack. Pour a little olive oil onto a paper towel and rub the eggs to create a slight sheen.
  4. With the glue gun, attach the eggs to the wreath. Let dry before hanging.

In Honor Of Spring's Arrival

Good Afternoon!

I am so happy spring has officially arrived but I am waiting for the weather to catch up :)

I am ready for the vibrant color of spring and the fresh scent

Can't you just smell it?

Reminds me of the beautiful wedding in Twilight.  Yes, I do love the movies.

Are you anxious to see the flowers and hear the birds?  I know I am : )

White And Gold

Good Morning!

I was out doing errands several days ago and the sun was shining really bright and we had just gotten a huge batch of snow (not a good combination).  My eyes were just burning and tearing.  I made my way to the store and picked up these awesome sunglasses.

Love the look of these white and gold frames.
Not overly done with the gold but just the right amount of balance.
I am really happy that the sun and snow were blinding me now..lol.

Let's look at some white and gold inspired interiors and accessories for your home.

Gold doesn't have to be gaudy. When it's used it can be a beautiful accent that will warm and add some elegance to the space.

I Have Taken The Plunge

Good Afternoon!

I love the color blue!  If you know anything about me .. I always gravitate to blue family.
The other thing you should know is that I usually stay away from strong bold colors for myself in decorating my home.

BUT..
I have found myself gravitating to the stronger more vibrant hue.

So, here's a sneak peek at my transformation..

There will be more to come..

What do you think about this color?
