Green Is Not Just Good For Your Health

Good Evening!

I have been obsessed with the color, emerald.  I am exploring options on where to use this color in my home. I would love to bring this into my kitchen and the research begins..

Simple and easy to do.

I think I am going to paint my kitchen chairs.  Then later refinish my table and stain it.

I am also debating painting my foyer table as well..hmm.  Have any of you used this color in your space yet?  Do you find it intimidating?

Staging A Home For Sale

Happy Labor Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day!

I wanted to share a home I recently helped to stage for selling..we all like before and afters.  The before pics are from when they had put the house on the market prior to the recent update we did.

Before
Living room..so sorry for the grainy pics.

dining room that is off to the left from front entry

The rooms we focused on were the living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast area, master bedroom and bathroom.

After
Living Room
As you can see decluttering was a must.  You can really get a sense of how big the space is.  We kept her existing furniture and just bought some lamps and put the mirror on the opposite wall to make the room feel bigger when you walked in.

Another view.

From the staircase
Dining Room.  No more red paint.  We put the table in a different direction..got new chairs for the head sides of the table, curtains, mirror, pendants, art, and centerpiece.  Most of all decluttering : )

Brightened up the kitchen..removed the light with the fan.  No one wants a fan over an eating area inside.  Your food will get cold.  New chandelier, curtains and plates on the wall lends to an informal eating area.

Kitchen lighter and doesn't feel so drab.

New carpet for bedroom

Painted tile surround around tub and art for the walls.

If you would like to see more of this house go here..

The Big Reveal : My DIY Garden Chandelier

Happy Friday!

If you remember how I took a trip to an awesome store here in town and I was inspired to create something a little unique.

I didn't walk away with much that day.
This project has been in my mind for 2yrs .. so..I hope you like it as much as we do : )

We started off with this..
I bought the hanging planter for $1.98 had to change out the hanger though because they told me that wasn't for sale..darn. I bought a chain hanger for $4 instead.

Spanish Moss.  Perfect for me because it can handle dry spells and you can put it on anything .. no soil : )
Looks a lot like spaghetti.  I bought 4 bunches of these to cover the planter well.

You will also need galvanized steel wire.  I had this laying around the house from a previous project.

I took the wire and began to wrap the base in a dream catcher fashion leaving enough space to get the spanish moss through.
Just keep going round and round with it.  I did that so I could have a base for a candle plate and a candle.  Side Note..Please use battery operated ones in case of fire.

I did not use any wire for the spanish moss...simply loop them through.

 (bottom rung)

Here is what it looked like with spanish moss complete..
I thought it needed more.  So back to the store I go and purchase faux forsythia.

I thought about cutting them and adding them in for some color..
(a little cardinal for something unexpected)

Some evening shots..

 In Nature..

What do you think?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Father's Day : )
