One Of My Favorite Architects

Good afternoon!

I don't know about you but I feel like the days are going by very quickly and I just want them to slow down a bit.  Maybe go back to a time where things were a little simpler..hmm

I am a sucker for homes that were built in the 1950's and 60's and to my amazement there was a home put up for auction that was built by the great Frank Lloyd Wright for a sweet couple.  The husband was in a wheelchair and it is the only house that was built by Wright as handicap accessible.

The house was auctioned off yesterday.  I am sorry to say it is off the market but I wanted to share photos of it.

It has been owned by the same people he built it for in 1952.

Take a look at what Frank Lloyd Wright himself called his "little gem".

  1. favorite architect! Lived in Buffalo, NY for most of my adult should see the FLW homes he built there...oh my!

  2. Uh-MAZING! Love the house, love the decor! Wish I could have seen it in person, but then they would have been wiping up my drool. :)

  3. Jim Said....Frank Lloyd Wright has always been my favorite artitect and always will be. The town I grew up in Rochelle, Ill has a Frank Lloyd Wright home built in the early 1900's in it, I know the lady who owns it, her late 2nd husband was a student of Mr Wright.

  4. Love me some FLW! We have a lot of his stuff in AZ, too.

  5. Martha, I would love to see those homes. Will have to look them up on the internet.
Jules, I think my drool has turned to icicles on their doorstep. Was there the other day and just about died : )
Anonymous (Jim), I wish I could see pictures of her home. Thank you for stopping by : )
Jessica, I am seriously thinking about doing a tour of the homes in the Chicago area.
