Good Morning!

I went out recently with friend/client to look for a credenza for her space.  We found what she wanted at the first store we went to but I was looking for something also.  I wanted to replace my art over my bar area..

It just wasn't doing anything for me anymore.

So, I took her to this shop that has so many amazing vintage finds.  I always go way to the back because that's usually where the good stuff is and where most people don't go look.  And I found what I was looking for.

Here is my new art..

I love it even more after I saw this..

and I got mine for $20.  Can I say score!

Branding Your Space

Hello!

Lately I have been getting a lot of questions about how to pull a room together.  Some people think that everything has to match exactly or all pieces need to come from a set..

However, it's nice to see a space that has the look of being collected over time.  I like to call it "Branding Your Space"

Your home is uniquely.. YOU and should speak that when someone walks through the door.

Easy Update For Your Home

Good Afternoon!

It's Spring and time to freshen up our interiors.  

I like easy updates that don't cost a lot of money..

Bringing the outdoors by using flowers can give your space a natural pick me up and life.

Try flowers with vibrant colors.  It's a great way to see if you like that hue in the room and would like to maybe use it in more accessories for ex. pillows or vases etc..

Backyard Retreat

Happy Monday!

I went out to my backyard today with a cup of tea and just enjoyed the sound of spring rain and the fresh scent.

Knowing that with all this spring rain there will be mowing and gardening happening..I thought I would share some beautiful backyard retreats with all of you.

When It Calls...I Can't Help But Answer

Good Afternoon!

I don't know about you guys but I am so enjoying this warm weather.  I personally believe we have skipped over spring and gone right into summer.  I must say it's alright with me and calms down the yearning from my island roots.

Let's talk about calming the beast for a minute..

I was out with my kids to get them summer clothes and I promise I was heading to the clothing store but I just happened to end up someplace completely different.  

I told them we would make it to where we needed to go..

I went in with something in mind because I was tired of seeing this empty wall in my kitchen..

and this caught my eye (kitchen not yet finished..just new paint and knobs)

Yes, it was love at first sight.

I was so proud.

Here it is in the space.

I love the way it looks against the wall color.  Oh..I also walked out with this too..

The wall clock.  I got all this for a steal.  This clock reminds me of this one

from Restoration Hardware.

BTW...I did take my kids to get some stuff for summer.  We were all happy : )

Green With Envy

Good afternoon!

How is everyone doing with the time change?

I personally believe I have jet lag..lol.

March is not only the month where we do the time change, St. Patrick's Day but where the weather seems to change from winter to spring.  Let's celebrate it by looking at rooms that are green : )

Pillow Talk And A DIY

I love old movies and some of my favorites are with Doris Day.

Their chemistry was amazing and the set design..divine!

The oversized gold lamps make such a statement.  Enjoying the contrast of a low lying bed and the height of the bedside tables.

Again the mixture of golds with a pop of color.

Kitchen Color And Homage

 Good Morning : )

I am so happy today because it is going to be 57 degrees and it is the touch of spring that I need.  Hearing the birds sing makes me happy.

Another thing that brings a smile to my face is my kitchen is finally painted.  Yippee!!  If you want to see the before go here and here.

We totally have so much more to do but I must say paint makes a huge difference.

The color toned down the green countertops and is helping me live with them until I can replace it.

And a little homage to home..

When I went to see my Dad this past month I wanted something to bring back with me original from New York (needed a taste of home).

My brother-in-law gave me this piece that was his grandfather's.  He had a bakery in NY and this was from his 1910 calendar that he had made.  How awesome is that : )

Hangs in the breakfast nook.  

I have so much more to do in this space but I think I will sit back and enjoy this paint color for a bit.
